Electronic monitoring technology components

A consortium led by G4S, the world’s leading security company, announces it has won a four-year contract valued at €30m to provide its latest electronic monitoring equipment and software for the Ministry of Justice in France.

The contract will see the rollout of G4S monitoring technology – including Global Positioning System (GPS) devices - to enable continuous tracking of subjects within France, its dependencies and territories.

The electronic monitoring programme in France is one of the largest in the world with more than 11,000 active monitors at any one time.

This technology, designed, developed and delivered from the company’s electronic monitoring business in the UK, has been used in more than 18 countries around the world.

G4S Monitoring Technologies Managing Director, David Byrne, said:
This agreement will see electronic monitoring continuing to play a vital role in France’s justice system and the adoption of our latest technology sets the benchmark in Europe.
